Jun 10, 2007Thank you to everyone who helped and supported the Columbiettes bake sale this past weekend. The Columbiettes raised $3,000 for Our Lady of the Gulf Church in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. The success of the bake sale would not have been possible without the support of the many people who donated their time and talents.
A special thank you to Julie, Nelson, Rob, Vickie, and Greg Clinch; Priscilla and Matt Hogan; Steve, Jordan, Ryan, and Nathan Kehoe; Al and Linda Leightley; Pat Heim; Alice Laing; Ann and Dave Todd; Beth, Bill, Marybeth and Glenn Ward; and Bill and Kathy Weich who all joined forces in the baking marathon that was held in the school kitchen on Saturday and helped with the selling throughout the weekend. More thanks go out to the numerous people who contributed in other ways. My apologies if I inadvertantly miss anyone. Lou Hartnett baked some delicious goodies at home and helped with the early selling shifts on Sunday morning. Mary Beiter, Mary Lou Gross, Donna Larkin, Lynne Morrison, the Rosenkranz family, Tim Tilson, and the Urban family all baked more treats at home, as well as a few others who I did not get to meet. Another thank you to the Cooke family for the use of their TV to show the DVD that Fr. Tracey from OLG sent. Erin and Maggie Cooke also helped with Sunday evening's Mass, including battling the stormy weather.
I am truly touched by the generosity of our Parish and the commitment of the Knights and Columbiettes to worthy charities such as helping our brothers and sisters in Mississppi. I want to again extend my sincere thanks to everyone involved.
Wendy Kehoe
