Oct 26, 2001Next week will be a very busy one for the Columbiettes. This coming Monday (Oct. 29) many of us will be making a trip to the Amish country with Father Kelly. A previous trip was made earlier this summer and it was so successful that we were able to talk Father into this second trip. There still are some remaining seats available for this trip. The cost of the trip is $50. which includes the bus trip, an Amish dinner served at noon and shopping in the village of Intercourse .If interested, please contact Elaine Pepin at the Rectory (703-273-5369) or Ann Todd at 703-352-2724. It should be a fun and interesting day for all and the fall foliage is beautiful up there this time of year!
There will be two workshops next week also. We will be putting together baskets and items to be sold at the Craft Fair on Nov. 4 and the Nov. & Dec. family breakfasts.
The first workshop will be on Tues. Oct. 30 at Providence Hall. We will be at the Hall from 5:30 until about 9 P.M. Materials will be provided but feel free to bring along your own glue gun and anything you might have that could be used to decorate Christmas baskets or wreaths.
The second workshop will be on Friday Nov. 2. Someone will be at the Hall from 4:30 until about 9 P.M. Please come to one or both of these evenings - even if you haven't attended any previous Columbiette functions. It should be a lot of fun.
This year we are going to raffle off two theme baskets and a wreath during our fundraiser. One basket will be a patriotic theme and the other will be Veggie Tales. The items for the first basket are already arranged but if each of us could bring along a Veggie Tale toy, book or whatever we could keep the cost down and have more funds available for our charities. We will be selling raffle tickets at the Craft Fair and at the next two breakfasts. As usual, Santa will draw the winning tickets.
Now, just in case you don't know it all spouses of Brother Knights are automatically members of the Columbiettes. We would love to see you (even if we don't know you yet) at any & all of these events. The greatest thing about our organization is that you don't have to pay to join and you don't have to attend meetings.
